What is Dermapen?
Microneedling is an effective form of skin rejuvenation, tackling scars, sun damage, large pores and even signs of ageing.
The Dermapen is simply a new, precise method of micro needling. As the Dermapen is guided over the treatment area tiny needles enter into the surface of the skin leaving minute puncture wounds. These tiny punctures trigger the body’s wound healing response and encourage the body to renew the skin cells in that area. While the body repairs the skin, it increases the production of collagen and elastin, immediately plumping the area, and causing a diminishment to wrinkles. As the body repairs the skin you will also see scarring, dark marks and sun damage decreasing.
Micro-needling is suitable for:
- Sun damage
- Enlarged Pores
- Stretch marks

- How many treatments will I need?
We usually recommended between 3 and 6 sessions. We can give you a better idea of treatments time during your consultation.
- Is the treatment painful?
One of the benefits of Dermapen in comparison to older methods of micro needling is increased comfort. You should feel only minimal discomfort.
- What can I expect after treatment?
You may experience temporary redness and swelling but this will go down within a few hours / a maximum of a few days.
- When will I see results?
The results from micro-needling skin remodelling can go on for months after each Dermapen treatment. Results can be seen from one to eight weeks later. Typically you will see results after your first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments when spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
- Is Dermapen safe?
Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime. It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health. The procedure isn’t safe for people who use certain acne medications or for women who are pregnant.
- How long do results last?
The results on scars and stretch marks are usually permanent. For signs of ageing (e.g. wrinkles) the Dermapen will reduce the size/severity but of course, over time they will reappear. One of the advantages of Dermapen is that treatment can be repeated again and again as necessary.
- Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is minor skin irritation immediately following the procedure. You may also see redness or swelling for up to a few days.
- Is Dermapen safe for all skin types?
Yes. The procedure is safe and effective for all skin types.
